The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to be the company’s next high-end Android smartphone, and a new leak has revealed the camera specifications of the upcoming smartphone. Coming as a successor to the Mi 11 Ultra, the phone will feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor and will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Xiaomi hasn’t revealed any details about the device yet, but leaks have given two codenames for the device, with the company also likely working on the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced.

The details of the Xiaomi 12 were first leaked in August, with a report from the website Xiaomiui suggesting that the company may be working on two new devices, codenamed Loki and Thor, which will be the successors to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced smartphones, respectively. will come as

Both the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced could be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (or Snapdragon 898) SoC. Coming to the camera, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to be equipped with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 sensor as part of the quad-camera setup. The leak also states that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will feature a 48-megapixel camera with 2x zoom, 48-megapixel camera with 5x zoom, and a 48-megapixel camera with 10x zoom. To recall, the Mi 11 Ultra sports a 50-megapixel primary sensor, paired with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens.

As per the report, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could be a China exclusive device and may arrive in the second quarter of 2022. The timeline suggested by the leak is in line with the release date of the Mi 11 Ultra.
