State Bureau, Dehradun. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) said that better career counseling facilities should be made available to the students of marginal and remote areas of the state at village, block and tehsil level. In the month of December, the Governor will start a two-day career counseling festival for the students of class 11th and 12th from Didihat.
Governor Gurmeet Singh took a meeting in this regard at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The Governor gave necessary instructions in this regard to the Gorkela Foundation and the officials involved in organizing the festival. It was decided that in future career counseling festivals would be held in every tehsil of the state. District Forest Officer, Chief Development Officer, District Education Officer, Deputy Collector and Gorkela Foundation President will conduct this program in Didihat.
The Governor said that the talented people of Uttarakhand are bringing laurels to the state all over the world. Facing the challenge of difficult geographical conditions, the natives of the state hold prestigious positions in the country and abroad. Now the time has come for the successful people of the state to return to their roots and give encouragement to the students living in remote hilly areas. Gorkela Foundation President Shreyasthi Manoj Gorkela, Additional Advocate General, Supreme Court Manoj Gorkela and other office bearers of the Foundation were present in the meeting.
Students and teachers honored
The felicitation ceremony was organized at Gyan Kalash Social Welfare and Educational Society School, Brahmanwala. During this, 16 students and 12 teachers from eight schools were felicitated. School Manager Mayank Bhushan Sharma started the program by lighting the lamp. Vikas Garg was present as the chief guest. On this occasion, school principals Manju Sharma, Vandana Sharma, Himanshu Arya, Parul Nautiyal, Anshul Rawat, Khushi Rana etc. were present.
