According to this letter from the ministry, ready to eat food will also be available in trains. Let us tell you that Zee Business had first told on October 14 that after the festivals, the catering service in trains will start as before. A letter has been issued by the Railway Board to CMD IRCTC in this regard. In the letter issued on Friday, it has been said that after the restoration of normal train service, removal of corona restrictions in many places including restaurants, hotels, it has been decided to serve cooked food in the train.

IRCTC has the responsibility
IRCTC has the core business of Catering and Tourism. IRCTC earns about Rs 1000 crore from catering. IRCTC provides on-board catering service in trains. IRCTC provides pantry facility in 19 Rajdhani, 2 Tejas, 1 Gatimaan, 1 Vande Bharat, 22 Shatabdi, 19 Duronto and 296 Mail/Express trains.

Service is closed since March 2020
Due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, the operation of trains was completely stopped in March last year (2020). Then operations were resumed in June-July. However, the Railways started trains with changes in many of its rules. In this change, it was decided not to serve food to passengers in trains. Then the Railways had given permission to order food online in the passenger train.
