For the sixth phase of the Panchayat elections to be held in Nokha and Nasriganj blocks, the preparations for voting have started after the election campaign ended on Monday.
Sasaram: Preparations for voting have started after the campaigning for the sixth phase of Panchayat elections to be held in Nokha and Nasriganj blocks from Monday. Polling will be held in both the blocks on November 3. On Monday, the personnel engaged in the election contributed in the respective block. All the workers will leave at the designated booth on Tuesday.
District Election Officer cum DM Dharmendra Kumar said that all the preparations have been completed for conducting the elections. The district administration is fully committed to conduct the remaining five phases of elections in a peaceful and fair manner. For this, instructions are being given to the concerned officers by visiting the block areas continuously. Voting will be held at 349 booths of both the blocks:
In the sixth phase, voting is to be held for Panchayat elections in a total of 349 booths in Nokha and Nasriganj. In this, votes will be cast at 184 booths in 13 panchayats of Nokha block. Voting will be held at 165 polling stations in 12 panchayats of Nasriganj block. One lakh 88 thousand voters will cast their vote:
One lakh 88 thousand 053 voters will exercise their franchise in both the blocks. In this, a total of 99 thousand 555 voters including 52172 male voters and 47383 female voters will cast their vote in Nokha block. In Nasriganj block, a total of 88 thousand 498 voters, including 46 thousand 585 male voters and 41 thousand 909 female voters, will use their franchise to elect a panchayat representative. 2684 candidates are in the fray: A total of 2684 candidates are in the fray for different posts in the Panchayat elections in Nokha and Nasriganj blocks. There are 1412 candidates in the fray in Nokha block and 1272 in Nasriganj block. Voting will take place on November 3 and counting of votes on November 13.
