Preparations are in full swing for the International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa this year. This year many Bollywood celebrities are going to make their presence felt in this festival. According to a report in TOI, these include many actors like Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh and Shraddha Kapoor. Apart from these, Mouni Roy, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia will also be present in this event. The opening ceremony of the International Film Festival of India will be hosted by Maniesh Paul and Karan Johar.
During this, tributes will also be paid to veteran actor Dilip Kumar, filmmakers Buddhadeb Dasgupta and Sumitra Bhave. Apart from the celebrities of Indian cinema, the ceremony will also pay tribute to foreign artists who have left this world saying goodbye to their fans. These include Christopher Plummer, Bertrand Tavernier and Jane Paul.
This time the program will have a hybrid format
The 52nd International Film Festival of India event will be held in Goa from November 20 to November 28, 2021. Keeping in view the coronavirus pandemic, this time the format of the program has been kept hybrid. This means that out of 224 films of different categories, physical and virtual screening of 50 films will be kept.
OTT content also got place
Taking a very big step, the Government of India has announced that OTT platforms will be able to participate in the International Film Festival of India this year. This is the first time that other OTT platforms like Zee5, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video will also be able to participate in this mega show. This was announced today i.e. on Thursday by Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.

Indian Film Personality of the Year Award for Hema Malini and Prasoon Joshi
Apart from this, Anurag Thakur also announced that Hema Malini and Prasoon Joshi will be honored with the Indian Film Personality of the Year award at this ceremony. He said that the contribution and work of Hema Malini and Prasoon Joshi in the field of Indian cinema spanning decades has enthralled audiences generation after generation. He is an Indian cinematic icon who is admired and respected across the world.
As per reports, 75 young aspiring filmmakers will receive masterclasses from industry experts at the International Film Festival of India event. Apart from this, around 50 films have been shortlisted for screening at the festival.
