The Sports Ministry of India on Monday felicitated the winners of last year’s Sports Awards at the Ashoka Hotel in Delhi. All the players had already been given their cash prizes, although they were not given the trophy which was now given to them after almost a year.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur gave a total of 74 National Awards, including five Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and 27 Arjuna Awards. The ceremony was attended by stars like hockey captain Rani Rampal, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, javelin thrower Mariyappan Thangavelu who were awarded the Khel Ratna Award.
