Skoda Discontinued its Rapid Sedan in India

New Delhi. Auto Desk. Skoda has stopped production of its popular sedan car Rapid in India. Due to which Skoda had to take this step. The company has recently launched Skoda Rapid Matt Edition in the Indian market. The company says that only as many units of the car as it is ready will be sold, after which the sale of Skoda Rapid will stop.

Honda City has received two generation updates since the launch of Rapid. The Maruti Ciaz has replaced the SX4, which finally managed to break the dominance of the Verna and Honda City. But the Skoda Rapid and the Volkswagen Vento are still intact with a few minor changes.

Skoda and Volkswagen are ready to launch new generation sedans. Skoda will reveal the Slavia on November 18, which will replace the Rapid. Let us tell you, Skoda Rapid was launched in the Indian market in the year 2011 and in the last 10 years, one lakh units of this car have been sold.

Regarding the Skoda Rapid, the company believes that this car has given a tough competition to the cars of Honda, Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki in the entry level full size sedan segment in India. Not only this, Rapid has a market share of 10% in this segment. At the same time, now the company is preparing to bring Skoda Slavia in its new segment.

The company says that the Slavia will replace the Rapid in India and it will be equipped with better looks and features.

Skoda India has said that the new Slavia sedan will be 4541 mm long, 1752 mm wide, 1487 mm long and will have a wheelbase of 2651 mm. That is, compared to the current Skoda Rapid, the Slavia is wider and longer and has a longer wheelbase. However, more details will be revealed only after the launch of the vehicle.
