Rohit Sharma says one eye on the next T20 World Cup 2022 after winning toss against new zealand in 1st t20i at jaipur

New Delhi. The T20 series between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ) has started. In the first T20 of the series at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, India won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first. Rohit Sharma is handling the captaincy of India in this series, while this is the first series under the guidance of Rahul Dravid as a full-time coach. India had a poor performance in the last T20 World Cup played in the UAE and could not even reach the semi-finals. Now the eyes of coach Dravid and the team are on the next World Cup which will be played in Australia in 2022. Rohit Sharma also pointed this out in a few words.

Rohit Sharma won the toss in the first T20 International of the series against New Zealand. He then said, ‘We will bowl first. The wicket is looking good, thought we should chase a target. There was a lot of dew during practice for a few days. It’s been good, it’s only been 2 days, a quick turnaround. Back from Dubai, spent a few days at home and then went out to play but it will be good for the team.

He further said, ‘We have an eye on the next World Cup, although there is still time in it but we will try to work on our options. Some results may not be immediate, but the process will be important. Rohit said about playing XI, ‘Shreyas Iyer is back in the team, Venkatesh Iyer is debuting. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Siraj and Deepak Chahar will play as pacers. We are playing with three fast bowlers and two spinners.
