fold. There is a good news for the children who have taken admission under RTE. They have got another chance to take admission. They will be able to do school choice filling till 7th November. Under the Right to Education Act, for the session 2020-21, the time table of the second phase has been issued by the State Education Center for free admission of children of weaker sections in non-aided private schools. Children who were denied admission during the first lottery are being given one more chance. Preference will be given to the children who have already filled the form. Fresh applications for admission will not be accepted.
According to the new time table, the children who missed the first lottery and who have not taken admission, the parents of such children will be able to update the school choice for the second phase lottery till November 7. On November 10, schools will be allotted by online lottery by random method. From November 10 to November 15, parents will be able to get admission by downloading the allotment letter and appearing for admission in the allotted school. At the time of taking admission, admission reporting will be recorded by the concerned private school through mobile app.
According to District Education Officer Chandrashekhar Sisodia, 1815 applications were found eligible at the time of first lottery. Of these, 1720 seats were allotted at the time of the first lottery. Out of these, 1633 children have taken admission. The parents of the remaining 182 children will be able to change the choice of private schools on the portal. But the option to apply afresh will not be available. Applicants who have applied online for the session 2020-21 earlier and found eligible in the verification and have not taken admission in this session, only those applicants will be able to lock the application by changing the school choice.
