Tech Desk. Password management service Nordpass has recently released a report which lists the most used passwords in India. You will be stunned to read the names of passwords given in this list. Let us tell you that the most used password is 123456. More than this, you will be surprised to know that this password has been used about 25 lakh 43 thousand times in the year 2020. And this year i.e. in 2021, it has been used more than 1 crore times. This report is enough to tell us how careless we are with ourselves about our data.

These are the most used passwords

According to the research company, the password ‘123456’ can be cracked in less than a second. The company analyzed 50 countries and in 43 out of 50 countries, the 2 most used password was ‘123456’. On the other hand, in India, ‘Password’ was the most commonly used password. It was used by a total of 17 lakh users in the country as their password. The top 10 common passwords in India after ‘Password’ are 12345, 123456, 12345678, 123456789, india123, 1234567890, 1234567 and qwerty. Other passwords used by people in India are “I Love You”, “Krishna”, “Sairam”.

Indian women used this password the most

If we talk about the same for women, then the most used passwords like “Priyanka”, “Snajay”, “Rakesh” were used. After this, now the third most used common password is “I Love You Babu”, I Love You, Sweetheart, Sunshine, etc. Research has also revealed that the simpler the password, the easier it can be hacked. According to the report, 60 out of 200 passwords in India were found which can be hacked in less than a second.

Keep these things in mind while creating password

1. Use at least 10 to 15 characters while creating the password

2. Use capital letters as well as letters in passwords

3. Always change your password

4. Use one password only in one place

5. Use a special character ( @#$&) when creating a password.

6. Do not enter your birthday date your mobile number in your password

7. Most of the people make their user ID as their password, avoid doing this.

8. Do not share your password with anyone
