Every year lakhs of tourists visit Mount Abu, the only hill station of the state. In Mount Abu, the biggest bumper season of the year is of Diwali, because at this time lakhs of tourists come here from the neighboring state of Gujarat. Talking about the years 2018, 2019 and 2020, more than 4 lakh tourists had come to Mount Abu. Traders of Mount Abu are expecting more than 5 lakh tourists to come this time too.
The biggest problem in front of the tourists visiting the hill station during the season is vehicle parking. Parking facility is available at only 5 places in the city, where about 800 vehicles can be parked. Parking for tourists was started in the city about 2 months ago in Ashok Vatika. Two CCTV cameras have been installed here for surveillance. Around 500 vehicles can be parked here. Apart from this, 100 vehicles can be parked in Delwara Vehicle Parking, about 100 vehicles in Arya Samaj Parking, 50 vehicles in Kitchen Garden Parking and 50 in KN Garden Parking.
Municipal Commissioner Ramkishore said that in the Deepawali season, there is a crowd of tourists till Labh Panchami. In such a situation, we have opened the Polo Ground with 2 thousand car parking capacity till Labh Panchami. The Polo Ground is a playground, so barricading has been put up around it. A guard will be stationed in uniform at the Polo Ground. The rate has been fixed for parking at the Polo Ground. Rs 10 will be charged for car, Rs 20 for tempo and mini bus and Rs 50 for big bus. Apart from this, parking will be free everywhere else in the city.
Mount Abu Station Officer Devendra Singh said that in view of the festive season, stickers are being put up by the administration on rental bikes and taxis running for the site scene in Mount Abu. Only rental bikes and taxis fitted with stickers will ply in the city during the season. Strict action will be taken against any rental bike and taxi without sticker.
