Paralympian Sumit Antil gets Mahindra XUV700 Javelin Gold Edition first delivery

New Delhi, Auto Desk. Mahindra has gifted the first ever personalized XUV700 to Paralympic gold medalist Sumit Antil. Sharing the photo on social media site Twitter, the company wrote, “We are very excited as we are gifting the first ever Personalized XUV700 to @sumit_javelin, who made the entire nation proud at the Tokyo Paralympics. Once again, India’s pride. Thank you for winning the gold medal.”

Antil has won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw F64 category at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra had earlier announced that the XUV700 Javelin Edition will be gifted to gold medalists at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Named the Javelin Edition, the XUV700 to be awarded to the Paralympic medalist by the company, the SUV will also be gifted to Neeraj Chopra and Avani Lekhara, who bagged gold medals in the recently held Olympics/Paralympics.

The new XUV700 Javelin Edition is being offered to Paralympic/Olympic gold medalists with a special paint scheme. The SUV is adorned with a golden finish which can be seen on the front grille slats, rear decals and the brand logo as well. Inside, the car gets the same golden treatment as the outside which matches well with the golden theme on the exteriors. Apart from cosmetic changes, no other changes have been made in its other details.

For information, let us tell you that the company had earlier announced that it has already received more than 65,000 bookings for the XUV700 since its launch. Customer deliveries have also started and the company aims to deliver at least 14,000 XUV700 to the customers by January 14 next year. The flagship XUV was initially launched at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The pricing was revised after the company opened the first 25,000 bookings for the XUV700. Currently, the car is priced from ₹12.49 Lakh (ex-showroom) to ₹22.89 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec trim AX7 Luxury (Seven Seater) + AWD.
