This was the global launch of Skoda Slavia, the company has included many advanced features in this 5-door sedan car of the premium midsize segment. In the market, this car will mainly compete with cars like Honda City.

Czech Republic’s leading automaker Skoda has today launched its new car Skoda Slavia in the mid-size sedan segment in the Indian market. Adorned with a very attractive look and strong engine power, this car has been launched in 3 trims with a total of 5 colors. Including Active, Style and Comfort. The company has also started its official booking from today itself.

Let us tell you that this was the global launch of Slavia. The premium midsize segment 5-door sedan comes with round air vents, horizontal trim strip and raised wordmark on the binnacle. The long wheel base, 16-inch alloy wheels, vertical chrome front grille, ‘L’ shaped headlights and bumpers with wide air inlets add to the beauty of the car.


New Slavia in the mirror of numbers:

Talking about the size, the length of this sedan car is 4,541mm, width is 1,752mm and height is 1,487mm. It has a wheelbase of 2,651mm. Compared to the company’s current sedan model Rapid, this car is 128mm longer, 53mm wider and 20mm higher. Its wheelbase is also 98mm more, which means you get better space inside this car.

Attractive car cabin:

The interior design of the Skoda Slavia largely matches that of the company’s larger Octavia sedan. Apart from this, many interior specs are also similar to the Kushak SUV, such as the two-spoke steering wheel etc. There is a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard, which is centered. Like the Kushak, the climate control panel has been equipped with a touch-based system.


However, unlike the Kushaq, which gets hexagonal AC vents at both ends, the Slavia gets round air-con vents on the sides. The center console also includes a wireless charging pad, right next to the gear lever. A digital instrument cluster in Slavia and the letter ‘SKODA’ embossed on the instrument binnacle is seen.

The company has included many advanced features in Skoda Slavia. The top-spec Slavia Style variant gets an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car features (Myskoda Connect), LED headlights and taillights, leather upholstery, ventilated seats, an electric sunroof. Apart from this, wireless charger, automatic climate control, keyless entry and an auto-dimming interior rear view mirror. On the other hand, the company has given a smaller, 7-inch touchscreen system in the entry-level Active trim.

Safety has also been taken care of in this sedan car. In terms of safety, the Slavia Style variant gets 6 airbags, ESC, Electronic Differential System (EDS), tire pressure monitor, hill-hold control (optional), rear parking camera, multi-collision brake and ISOFIX child seat mount.


Engine Capacity and Power:

The company has introduced this car in the market with two engine options. Its one variant has a TSI petrol engine of 1.0 liter capacity which generates power of 113 bhp and torque of 175 Nm. This engine comes with 6 speed manual and automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the 1.5 liter turbocharged engine has been given in the second variant, which generates 150 bhp power and 250 Nm torque, this engine also comes with 6 speed manual and 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox.

When will you be able to buy this car:

At present, the company has only showcased the Skoda Slavia today, which can be launched for sale in February or March next year. Its official booking has started, which can be booked through the company’s website as well as through authorized dealerships. Experts believe that the company can launch this car between Rs 10 to 12 lakh. After coming in the market, this car will mainly compete with cars like Honda City.
