In such a situation, representatives of local media, including office bearers of District Marathi Journalists Association, met District Guardian Minister Yashomati Thakur at the local government rest house last day and demanded to start internet service in media offices. After which, Guardian Minister Yashomati Thakur, while talking to State Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and Police Commissioner Dr. Arti Singh, talked about the relief in net closure for the media sector. After which internet service was restored through broadband in all the media offices in the city today.
Let us inform that, after the incidents of violence, sabotage and arson in the city on the last Friday and Saturday, a proposal to stop all types of internet service in the city to prevent the spread of rumors was given by the Commissioner of Police Dr. Arti Singh to the Home Secretary of the state. Was sent. After which the Internet service of the city was closed in the first phase till 3 pm on Tuesday 16 November and in the second phase till 3 pm on Friday 19 November. However, despite this, internet was running through broadband and optic fiber in many media offices. Due to which the local media offices were getting the news of the country and abroad. But last day on Wednesday, November 17, this service was also stopped. In such a situation, the work of the media sector was badly affected. It is worth mentioning that these days internet is very important to run business in the media sector. In such a situation, many media personnel were trying to get internet service by going out of the city. But at the local level, the daily work in the media offices was badly affected. After becoming aware of all these things through the District Marathi Journalists Association, District Guardian Minister Yashomati Thakur told the state Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil that, the kind of situation in the city, the media in a way plays the role of an ally for the government. And true and factual information is delivered to the common citizens. By which the situation can be handled. Therefore, the inconvenience caused to the media should be removed. After hearing this, Home Minister Valse Patil assured Guardian Minister Yashomati Thakur of taking some positive steps in this soon. After this, Guardian Minister Yashomati Thakur contacted Police Commissioner Dr. Aarti Singh and asked him to provide internet facility for the media at the local level. After which all necessary efforts were made with a view to provide internet service to the media offices at the local level and from the morning of today, Thursday, November 18, internet service was restored in the local media offices.
