India International Science Festival-2021 to be organized from December 10

IISF is organized every year since 2015 with the objective of attracting youth towards science and promoting networking of stakeholders working towards popularizing science.

Following a formal announcement by Dr. M. Ravi Chandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), the clarion call for the India International Science Festival (IISF)-2021, called the Maha Kumbh of Science, has been sounded.

This will be the 7th edition of IISF, which is being held in Panaji, capital of Goa on December 10-13, 2021 in hybrid (online and offline) mode in view of the outbreak of Corona.

The National Center for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), a Goa-based autonomous institute functioning under MoES, is the nodal agency for organizing IISF-2021.

IISF-2021 is being jointly organized by MoES, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in association with Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA).

The theme of IISF-2021 is ‘Celebration of Creativity in Science, Technology and Innovation for a Prosperous India’. A statement issued by MoES in this regard said that all the programs of IISF-2021 will reflect the spirit and idea of ​​’Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ of the Government of India, which aims to mark 75 glorious years of Indian Independence in the year 2022. IISF-2021 is being conducted in a hybrid form. That is why, one can attend this event in both virtual and physical form. It will include a total of twelve events including Mega-Science, Technology and Industry Expo. These programs are classified into five categories. The origin and role of scientific community, scientific institutions and scientific movements will be remembered in the Indian freedom struggle series. Innovative ideas related to building a new India will be brainstormed under the [email protected] category.
