Deoria. The health department has gathered in preparations to deal with a possible third wave. Preparations are being tested through mock drills. With the passing of the festival, the department has become alert in view of the possibility of increasing infection and getting a positive case. Along with the investigation, the work of vaccination has been intensified.
Fears are being expressed about a possible third wave of Kovid-19. Children are feared to be affected the most. People have become careless about Kovid, but the Health Department is busy in its preparations. Apart from the 250-bed Kovid Hospital located in the district hospital, Piku ward has been made at four community centers. While the preparations were tested by doing mock drills at these centres, resources were tested. Last time during the pandemic, people had to face problems due to lack of oxygen. This big problem is almost solved. However, there is a shortage of operators to run the plant. Apart from this, other resources and medicines are available.
Piku ward has been made here
Deoria. A 57-bed Piku ward has been made by the Health Department in the Kovid Hospital built in the MCH wing. It has 20 bedded ICU and 37 beds oxygenated. Apart from this, twenty beds in CHC Lar and Piku ward of 12 beds have been made in Rudrapur, Gauribazar and Pipradaula Kadam. Equipment and medicines to be used are provided here.

Deoria. The Health Department has 62 ventilators, 651 oxygen concentrators, including 95 of ten liters per minute and 556 of five liters per minute. Oxygen concentrator has been provided at all sixteen CHCs and ten PHCs. Apart from this, 32 YPAP machines and 121 D type oxygen cylinders are available.
Seven plants of oxygen set up
Deoria. Seven oxygen plants have been established. In this, 250 liters per minute at CHC Rudrapur, 500 liters per minute at Pipra Daula Kadam in collaboration with IPL Sugar Mill and 1000 liters per minute with the support of PM Care Fund in the MCH wing premises of the district hospital is functional. Cylinders can also be filled from this plant. Here a one liter per minute plant is being set up by the People’s Democratic Foundation, which will become functional soon.
90 personnel given training
Deoria. 90 health workers including doctors have been trained for duty in Piku ward. Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Dr. Amit, Nurse Mentor Jyoti Tiwari and District Hospital Staff Nurse Reema Yadav received training as master trainers for the arrangement of Kovid Piku in Lucknow. He trained doctors, staff nurses, CHOs (Community Health Officers) in three batches. Apart from this, doctors and paramedical staff have also been trained by the government through zoom.
