Biwar (Hamirpur). Two women, who were returning home after grazing cattle from the field, were hit by a vehicle on the Hamirpur-Rath highway. One died on the spot, while the other has been referred from the CHC to the district hospital.
Muniya (45) and Hiradevi Prajapati (35), residents of Chhani village of Biwar police station area, were returning home after grazing cattle from the field at around 5 pm on Monday. The speeding vehicle hit both of them at some distance from the petrol pump outside the village. Muniya died on the spot. Hiradevi was seriously injured. The relatives, who reached the information of the villagers, admitted him to the Chhani CHC. From where he was referred to the district hospital. The driver fled with the vehicle after the accident. SI Anugrah Maurya, who reached the spot, said that after questioning the family, the body would be sent for post-mortem. So far, the vehicle that hit the women is not known. On receiving the said complaint, further action will be taken after registering a case. The panchnama of the dead body was not done till the time of writing the news. A crowd of relatives and villagers of the deceased have gathered on the spot.
