According to the advisory, it is mandatory to inform the department if the report comes negative or positive after testing with the kit. Otherwise, you will come under the purview of action under the Epidemic Diseases Act. For giving information, the department has issued helpline number 9779558282. According to the department, the kit will be tested in just two minutes. However, it will take 15 minutes to get the results.
As per the ICMR standard, there is no need to conduct RT-PCR test if the result of this self-test kit is positive. According to the ICMR guidelines, the Koviself kit should be used at home by only those people who have symptoms of Kovid-19 or have come in contact with a corona positive person through a lab. What to do if the test comes back positive?
All those coming positive are advised to stay in home isolation and follow the Corona rules issued under the guidelines of ICMR and Ministry of Health. At the same time, people who have symptoms of corona and they have come negative in the test of Kovisself kit, they should get RT-PCR done. This is necessary because it is believed that in some cases it is not confirmed through rapid antigen testing due to the low virus load.
